About the Instructor

Photo_FY12.jpg Hello!  I am excited to be with you this year as you begin your journey into Keyboarding.  I am originally from Eagle River, Alaska.  I graduated with a Bachelors of Education from BYU-Idaho in 2010 and a Master in Education from Boise State University in 2014.  I have recently spent the last four years in the Alaskan bush (wilderness) teaching teachers and Native Alaskan Yupik Eskimo students.  My wife and I were married in 2006 and we adopted a little girl in 2012.  I look forward to a wonderful year with you here at HighMark!

There are many things that happen to us in life, most of which are not always fair or happen according to plan. It is how we handle these challenges that determine our character or what kind of person we become. In our class we will be following the principle of dealing above the line. Whatever happens it is the individual’s responsibility to be responsible and accountable for their own actions. Blaming, justifying, or shaming yourself for not thinking ahead are areas we want to avoid. When we deal above the line, we are more productive and happier with ourselves and with others. Let’s Deal Above the Line!
